Dr. B S Tomar Honors the Democratic Legacy of India on the 75th Republic Day with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047
NIMS University Rajasthan beams with patriotism and pride in the atmosphere as India stands on the threshold of history with the celebration of the 75th Republic Day with unparalleled passion and pride on January 26, 2024. Celebrated in respect of marking the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India, it also serves as a reminder of the collective journey towards democracy, freedom, and unity.
Dr. Balvir S. Tomar hoisted the Tricolor with the tunes of the National Anthem as everyone paid reverence to the leaders who fought to secure our democratic rights and liberties. Their indomitable spirit inspired many generations to uphold the values of justice, equality, and fraternity.
The Republic Day Parade was the focal point of the celebrations, showcasing the majestic March Past by the cadet forces to the colorful tableaux depicting the cultural heritage of different states. The cadence of the March Past reverberated through the grounds, displaying the discipline and determination of the NCC SW, NSS, and NCC JW troops.
This time the theme for Republic Day celebrations was ‘Bharat- Loktranta ki Matrika,” translating to “Bharat – The Mother of Democracy,” enveloping the essence of our nation as the oldest democracy in the world. Alongside, the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, also known as Voice of Youth, inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on December 11, 2023, was also recognized.
The initiative’s image aims at various aspects of progress, including economic, social, environmental, and governance, among others. It encourages young people to contribute their ideas for an evolved India and outstanding proposals in each of these domains.
All eyes turned towards the dais as Prof. (Dr.) Balvir S. Tomar, the Founder & Chancellor of NIMS University, took the stage to deliver the Chief Address. His words, laden with wisdom and foresight, resonated deeply with all present, inspiring a renewed sense of purpose and duty toward building a brighter future for our nation.
He expressed great enthusiasm on the occasion as he said, “I send you wishes as a countryman as I feel immense gratitude to stand here. This important day recognized the implementation of the Constitution. And that the Constitution has privileged us to be free under the blue sky. We are blessed to be the citizens of a country that flags secularism, sovereignty, and democracy.
This day is the prime example of the sacrifices of our martyrs that we breathe without a second thought. I offer my respect to their families, lineage, and their valor and remember their sacrifices. “
He further continued to emphasize the importance of global reach of education and harboring international relations, “As aptly quoted by Nelson Mandela –“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
And with our vision at NIMS University, we have delivered that education does have the power to change the world.”
Dr. Balvir S. Tomar presented his closing remarks quoting Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Former President of India- “Dream! Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts transform into action.” Followed by,”Whatever wishes you have brought along, we strive to fulfill that for you and make our presence globally. To become that, we need to bring a change.
Let’s pledge that we will uphold the values of our great nation and be responsible citizens of the country. We will respect diversity. We will build an inclusive society and use it for the betterment. We will uplift the underprivileged. Let’s dream big, dare to think differently, and work tirelessly towards realizing our vision for a better tomorrow. We can create a better situation and leave a Lasting impact for the next generation.”
The MoU between Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics, and Cybernetics for the European Union (EU) Project and Marik Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Cybernetics of NIMS University is a testament to the power of combined effort towards global education. This partnership will serve as a catalyst of progress for the wider Indo-Pacific region with the idea of innovation and excellence.
The MOU, facilitated by Czech PM Petr Fiala on behalf of the European Union Project, aims to position India at the forefront of global education. The Petr Fiala Global Institute of Health Research Innovation, inaugurated by the Czech PM aims to put NIMS as the guiding light in this program, focusing on researching genetic diseases and gene defects to enhance medical science and other disciplines at Nims University.
NIMS University’s existing partnerships with the US, Australia, UK, and Canada offer opportunities for students to pursue half of their duration there and half in India, enriching their global perspective.
Students from B.Tech who visited Prague, Czech Republic, specifically at UCT Prague and were warmly welcomed by Orlen Unipetrol, acquired advanced skills and knowledge while immersing them in the local culture. Foreign Collaborations students from the Second Faculty of Medicine at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic, along with those from FN Motol Hospital, the oldest and largest university in Central Europe, also experienced and embraced the rich Indian culture and values during their visit.
As a reciprocal gesture, undergraduate and postgraduate medical students will visit FN Motol Hospital, receiving exposure to higher education opportunities. Engineering college students have also been invited to Czech Prague for a two-month program. Nims Faculty is also scheduled to visit Prague for a teacher action program, collaborating on European Union Project to gain the latest advancements in AI and technology, and will contribute by teaching these advancements at NIMS University, enhancing students’ skills for their respective fields.
NIMS University offers a two-year MBA program with the option to transfer to foreign universities, aligning with international education standards and providing workshops and lectures to enhance students’ skills and propel their journey forward.
NIMS has always been upfront to bring positive change to the society, maintaining international collaboration and nurturing entrepreneurship.
The melodies of the NIMS Music Band presenting captivating performances highlighted the themes of Empowering Women, Viksit Bharat (Developed India), and Sankalp se Siddhi (Accomplishment through Determination); each act served as a reminder of India’s progressive spirit.
Dr. Sandeep Tripathi, Registrar- NIMS University, stepped forward to extend a heartfelt Vote of Thanks. He said, “We have a vision with us, new things are coming for us with this New Year. By 2025, NIMS will be transformed and we are very confident about the same. “
With a final rendition of the National Anthem, the celebrations drew to a conclusion.
The close of the day of Republic Day 2024 ended with the spirit of democracy, unity, and resilience that defines our nation. It reignited the aspirations of our founding fathers to build an India that is inclusive, equitable, and just for all.
